Hong Kong SEO check
Enter a Hong Kong website and check what decides its search basics: page title, canonical, robots rules and sitemap. Each answer shows the value found on the page.
What does a Hong Kong SEO check look at?
Reads one page's code as it first loads, the robots.txt rules that apply to Google's crawler (Googlebot) and other crawlers, and the sitemap, the list of pages the site points search engines to. It reports the page title, the description, the canonical address, the language tag, how many main headings there are, the structured data and the crawler rules that apply. It does not measure rankings, traffic or whether Google has included the page, and it does not check pages you did not enter.

What the check covers
- Page title
- The page title that shows as the clickable headline in Google results, and whether the page has one.
- Meta description
- The short description that often appears under the title in Google results, or a note that the page has none.
- Canonical
- The address the page names as its main version, and where it points.
- Language tag
- The language the page says it is written in, set by lang in the page's code.
- H1 headings
- How many main headings (H1) the page has when it first loads.
- Structured data
- How many blocks of structured data (JSON-LD) the page has, and whether each one can be read without errors.
- robots.txt
- The rules that apply to Google's and Bing's crawlers (Googlebot, Bingbot) and to AI crawlers, with the line in the file that decided each one.
- Sitemap
- The sitemap (list of pages) the site declares, whether it opens (its HTTP status) and the first five addresses in it.
Before you use the result
What is a Hong Kong SEO check?
It checks the parts of a Hong Kong website that decide whether Google can read and choose a page. This tool reads the page itself, the robots.txt rules and the sitemap (list of pages), then names what to fix first.
Will this show my ranking in Hong Kong?
No. The check reads your page and its published rules. To see what people in Hong Kong searched, how often they clicked and your average position, use Google Search Console, Google's free report for site owners, and filter by country. A ranking report and a technical check answer different questions.
Should a Hong Kong site be in Traditional Chinese or English?
Write for the customers you want to reach. A Hong Kong shop usually needs Traditional Chinese first and English second, each on its own address with a language tag. This check reports the tag it finds and the links to other language versions on the page.
Is a free check enough?
It covers the technical basics of one page. It cannot tell you whether the content answers what Hong Kong customers search for, and it does not audit pages you did not enter. Treat it as the first pass, then fix what the result names.
How often should I run it?
Run it after a redesign, a domain change or a plugin update, and once a quarter otherwise. The result is a snapshot of that moment, not a monitoring service.
Does this check work for a site outside Hong Kong?
Yes. The check reads the page, the robots.txt rules and the sitemap, and they work the same on any site. The wording is aimed at Hong Kong businesses because that is the market it was built for, and the same checks apply to a Taiwan site.
