Is your Google Business Profile complete?

A shop with an incomplete profile loses the map result before the website is ever read. Work through the list and see what is missing.

Score a Google Business Profile

Tick what is already done. The result lists the gaps in the order that usually matters most.

Score a Google Business Profile

The score is the share of weighted checks that pass. It is a planning aid: it says which fields are missing, not where the listing ranks. A low score on a new shop is normal.

Fill in the form and run it. The result appears here.

Why the profile decides local searches

When someone in Hong Kong searches for a shop, a clinic or a service near them, Google often answers with a map result before the ordinary links. That result is built from the Business Profile, not from your homepage. If the profile is thin, the website never gets the chance to compete.

The profile also feeds the answers AI assistants give about local businesses: opening hours, address, phone number and what the shop does. Wrong or missing fields travel further than most owners expect.

What the audit checks

The list covers the fields that are visible to customers and the ones that decide whether the listing is trusted. It is grouped into identity, location, content, reviews and consistency.

Each item is something you can check yourself in the profile dashboard. The tool does not connect to Google, so it cannot read your listing; you answer, and it scores.

What a complete profile cannot fix

A complete profile does not guarantee the map result. Distance, prominence and competition still decide the order. Nor does it replace the website: a profile with no useful page behind it sends people to a dead end.

Reviews are the other limit. The audit checks whether you ask for reviews and reply to them, not whether you can remove a bad one. Google's policies decide that, and asking for reviews in exchange for a discount breaks them.

How often to run it

Run the audit when the shop opens, when it moves, when hours change for a holiday, and once a quarter otherwise. Most damage comes from small facts going stale, such as a closed branch still marked open.

Questions before you use it

Does a complete profile get my shop into the map results?

It makes the shop eligible and gives Google the facts it needs. Distance, competition and prominence still decide the order. No checklist guarantees a position.

Can I add keywords to my business name?

No. Google's naming rules require the name on your sign and documents. Keyword-stuffed names can be edited or the listing suspended, which costs more than the ranking it was meant to win.

How many reviews do I need?

There is no threshold. A steady flow of recent reviews from real customers matters more than a large old total. Reply to each one, including the bad ones.

The shop has two listings. What now?

Report the duplicate and keep the listing with the most reviews and the correct address. Two listings split reviews and confuse both customers and Google.

Does this tool connect to my Google account?

No. It runs on your answers and stores nothing. You check the profile in Google's own dashboard.
